In What's life without Freedom!, Community News

Freedom Aged Care Burwood recently held a fancy dress Masquerade Ball, complete with cocktails, finger food, games, dancing, and a special opera performance. The ball was organised by the community team as a special social event for their residents, to enjoy each other’s company and do something a little out of the ordinary, because what’s life without a little fun!

An opera performance by Paul Gulinello was the highlight of the evening. A few of our residents sang along with Paul, including talented resident Audrey Paturzo (90 years young).

Opera Sing Along

For Audrey, listening to Paul’s performance and singing along brought back memories of her time as the lead female singer in the 1959 production of My Fair Lady musical in Melbourne. Audrey kindly shared with us a photo of her time in the musical, where she is dressed in a magnificent dress and simply looks amazing!

After the opera performance it was time for a game of 'Guess the Famous Icon', where photos of famous people had masks covering their faces and our residents had to guess who the famous person was.

It was such a great night for both our residents and the onsite team, the perfect chance to celebrate life and have fun together.
