In the month of October our Freedom family pulled out all the stops to make a valuable contribution to Project Pink. Project Pink is a charity aiming to reclaim the colour pink from breast cancers grasp and all donations help to fund cancer research. Aveo is a proud supporter of Project Pink and has made a great contribution across all of its retirement villages. At Freedom Aged Care we wanted to help contribute to this great cause and a number of our communities were very eager to get involved.
Freedom Aged Care Geelong chose to host a pink afternoon tea combined with a race day theme. This included playing some fun games and awarding the 'best dressed in pink'.
Our Freedom family at Tanah Merah put on a fantastic Project Pink high tea, which included some fun games and a fundraiser.
Freedom Concierge Balwyn also put on a wonderful Project Pink high tea and had a ‘prettiest tea cup and saucer’ competition.

At Freedom Aged Care Burwood a Project Pink Devonshire Tea was the event of choice and the onsite team got all dressed up for the occasion.
In Toowoomba, our Taylor Street community held a pink themed 'Bush Dance' event, where a local performer came to play some classic country tunes for eveyone to get up and enjoy a boogie.
A 'pink pancake' breakfast was held in the beautiful Queenslander at Redland Bay.
Our Freedom family at Rochedale held a 'Pink Day' and posed for some happy snaps with an old hot pink Holden.
It was really amazing to see our wonderful Freedom family putting in such a huge effort to raise funds for a great cause. The Aveo Group as a whole has provided a lot of support for Project Pink and has raised close to $70,000 accross all communities. Aveo Group will also be matching, dollar for dollar, all the funds raised by residents and team members, read all about this here.
