With Christmas just around the corner it is the perfect time to take a look at the most affordable, fresh and delicious recipes to satisfy your taste buds.   


Here are a few of our top Aussie style recipes using this summer's fruit and veg:

A starter to share


Veggie damper:

Chopped 1 Spring onion, 1 clove of garlic, ½ a capsicum, 1 zucchini, parsley and mix it with olive oil. Add salt, pepper and ½ a tablespoon of vegetable stock powder. Then mix in ¾ of skim milk and knead the dough into a large ball. Sift a little flour over the dough and bake for 35-45 minutes. 

For an extra bit of Aussie savoury/sweet flavour consider sprinkling the damper with wattle seeds.  



Main for the BBQ


Barbeque cauliflower steak:

Cover your cauliflower steaks with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Place the cauliflower steaks on your barbecue grill. Cook the cauliflower steaks until it's tender on the inside and crispy on the outside.  Mix 1/2 cup of chopped basil and oregano, 1/2 a cup of chopped red onion, 1 finely chopped chilli, 15mls of white vinegar and 60mls of extra olive oil in a bowl. Brush the steak with the seasoning. 



A chilled dessert


Fruit ice blocks: 
Mix half a melon honeydew, half a rock melon, a half a cup of berries in a blender. Spoon mixture into ice block moulds and freeze.    For an extra bit of Aussie flavour add some lemon myrtle leaves.



A fruity vegan drink



Blend half a cup of raspberries, one banana, fifteen grapes and half a cup of strawberries. Mix one cup of crushed ice on a low blend on and off. Serves two.
